Foundation Presents at the 2008 Lex Mundi Regional Conference in Buenos Aires

Chloe Holderness, Deputy Managing Director of the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation, presented a session at the Lex Mundi Latin America/Caribbean Regional Conference, which was held October 16-19, 2008, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Foundation’s session featured Mary Anne Muller of Fundación Origen in Chile.  Ms. Muller’s work has been globally recognized by a number of organizations including the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. The Schwab Foundation is one of the Foundation's global partner organizations.

The Fundación Origen runs the Agreocological School of Pirgue which provides an educational environment for highly vulnerable youth. The School helps its students obtain their high school diploma while at the same time getting a degree as a Farming Technician in organic agriculture, which is recognized by the Ministry of Chile and allows students to go into higher education or into the skilled labor world.  The incredible success of this educational model is seen through its 100% graduation rate.
