The Foundation Participates in the Lemelson Foundation Inventor Support Grantee Meetings at MIT
On April 23-24, 2009, Dave Roll, Associate Director of the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation, attended and participated in the Lemelson Foundation Inventor Support Grantee Meetings at MIT. The purpose of the meetings was to encourage learning among the Lemelson Foundation’s partners that support invention-based social entrepreneurs, discuss key challenges faced by participants, and build an on-going and supportive network.
The Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation was invited to participate in the meetings because it is a current recipient of a grant from the Lemelson Foundation. As part of its relationship with the Lemelson Foundation, the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation will identify and provide pro bono legal services to invention-based social entrepreneurs around the world.
The Lemelson Foundation celebrates and supports inventors and entrepreneurs in order to strengthen social and economic life. The Foundation’s programs in the U.S. and developing countries recognize and celebrate accomplished inventors; provide financial and mentoring support to grassroots inventors; offer hands-on opportunities that enable young people to develop their budding scientific curiosity; and disseminate technologies that improve people’s lives.
