At the Sixth Annual E-Waste Awards Ceremony, held in Santiago on November 12, 2009, Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation was presented with an award for its work in locating lawyers in three Lex Mundi member firms to assist Recycla, a highly innovative electronic waste recycler. As a result of the Foundation’s introduction, the Lex Mundi member firm in Chile, Claro & Cia., Abogados, has provided hundreds of hours of pro bono legal services to Recycla and has been instrumental in it success. Two other Lex Mundi member firms, Day Pitney LLP (U.S.A) and Hwang Mok Park, P.C. (Korea), also rendered invaluable legal assistance to Recycla. Following the awards ceremony, representative of Recycla, Nicolas Eyzaguirre of Claro & Cia and Dave Roll, Associate Director of the Foundation, had a private meeting with Chile’s Minister of Environment.
