Foundation Presents at the 2009 Lex Mundi Regional Conference in Mexico City

Chloe Holderness, Managing Director of the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation, presented a session at the Lex Mundi Latin America/Caribbean Regional Conference, which was held December 3-5, 2009, in Mexico City, Mexico.  Ms. Holderness provided an update on the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation’s success to date in supporting the global social entrepreneurship movement with the help and cooperation of the Lex Mundi member firms.

The session highlighted the Foundation’s partnership with the Fundación Basham, Ringe y Correa. A.C. Ignacio Orendain K., the President of the Fundación Basham provided an overview of the important work of the Foundation in providing critical pro bono legal support to underserved populations in Mexico. 

In addition, Jorge Cuevas introduced the work of Sustainable Harvest, a Lex Mundi Pro Bono client, and discussed the impact that Basham and other Lex Mundi member firms have had on the organization’s success and mission. Sustainable Harvest is working around the world to improve lives by creating transparent and sustainable coffee supply chains. Sustainable Harvest is an example of how the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation works with and supports the pro bono initiatives of Lex Mundi member firms.
