Advise On Working With Adults Under Legal Conservatorship

Assist a nonprofit providing higher education to adults with disabilities by answering questions about working with adults under legal conservatorship.

Jurisdiction(s): CA
About the Organization: College of Adaptive Arts provides a lifelong, equitable collegiate experience to adults with disabilities who historically have not had access to college education.
Legal Entity Type: Nonprofit/Charity
SDG(s): Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, Partnerships to achieve the Goals, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities
Legal Issue(s):

The team at CAA often works with adults who are under legal conservatorship. They would like to better understand their legal obligations when supervising these adults outside of school hours. Additionally, they would appreciate guidance on any steps they should take if an adult student expresses that they do not wish to return home to their legal conservator.  Are there certain reporting obligations they should be aware of?
