About the Organization: The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees is the nation’s leading interfaith response to the Syrian humanitarian crisis. They harness the power of their more than 100 faith-based and secular partners to deliver aid to millions of Syrians whose lives have been disrupted by the war; advocate for U.S. refugee policies; create awareness of the strength, resilience, and contributions of the Syrian people; and ultimately provide support as they restore their lives. The Executive Director of the organization is a Syrian refugee and has been personally impacted by the conflict.

The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) has been fiscally sponsored since inception. However, due to recent internal policy changes within their fiscal sponsor’s organization, MFA has decided to become an independent entity and plans to merge with another nonprofit. MFA is now seeking legal guidance/support as they merge, including assistance reviewing and updating governing documents.

Additionally, MFA has an amicable and long-standing relationship with their fiscal sponsor, who plans to help MFA through the transition. They offered a pro bono consultant and also indicated potential financial support. If possible, MFA would appreciate assistance drafting the termination letter to their fiscal sponsor detailing their request and memorializing the agreement. Please note, this is a secondary ask. Any volunteer is not required to assist with both pieces if they do not have capacity.
