GUFA Law Enables EOS International to Expand its Mission of Providing Access to Safe Drinking Water and Economic Opportunity to Honduras

Drinking Water Nicaragua and Honduras are among the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere with fifty percent of the rural population living below the national poverty line. A large majority of the impoverished population in these countries lives in rural areas, where access to basic services is limited. In addition to living in remote areas and possessing little purchasing power, most rural families continue to live without access to clean drinking water and have little opportunity to generate income.

To address these interlocking issues, EOS International works to empower rural families in by providing simple, inexpensive solutions that improve health, generate income, and provide access to clean water. Through strong community partnerships and investment from technology beneficiaries, EOS International creates sustainable, life-changing solutions for people to lift themselves out of poverty. EOS is dedicated to creating a long-lasting impact in Central America.

As the organization sought to expand its regional operations to Honduras, EOS International’s Founder reached out to the Foundation seeking assistance to undertake a nonprofit merger with a local partner. GUFA Law, the Lex Mundi member firm for Honduras, was immediately able to step up and handle the legal aspects of the merger on a pro bono basis.
