Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation Honored Twice as a Winner in the Category of Humanitarian Action & Services for the 4th Annual Anthem Awards
Washington, D.C. — November 20, 2024 — The Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation announced today that it has been named a Winner in two Humanitarian Action & Services categories of the 4th Annual Anthem Awards. All Anthem Winners were selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
Lex Mundi is the world’s leading network of law firms, with over 150 top-tier, independent, member firms across more than 125 countries. As the non-profit affiliate of Lex Mundi, the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation allows this global community of lawyers to give back! Through the Foundation, Lex Mundi lawyers provide critical pro bono legal support to social entrepreneurs who are tackling global challenges and are frequently on the front lines of humanitarian crises. The Foundation was the first legal pro bono provider focused specifically on supporting social entrepreneurs, recognizing that with high caliber pro bono legal support, social enterprises are, without question, more successful. They scale faster, reach more people in need, and ultimately have a greater impact. Through the Foundation, 136 Lex Mundi member law firms have supported over 1,000 social entrepreneurs on more than 2,500 unique matters across 117 countries. This equates to millions of dollars of free legal support, which has touched countless lives.

During the Lex Mundi Annual Connect & Collaborate Conference in London on May 10, 2024, Carlos Velázquez De León was elected as the new Chair of Lex Mundi and Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation’s Board of Directors. The Foundation’s Board of Directors also elected Aniekan Ukpanah, Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie (Nigeria), to the position of Chair-Elect and Christel Van den Eynden, Liedekerke (Belgium), as a new director. The three new members join the Foundation’s current directors in seeking to embody the highest ideals of the legal profession. By promoting and facilitating the delivery of pro bono legal services, they support those positively improving lives worldwide.
